Refund policy

RETURNS/EXCHANGES

We are an independently owned retail store, and we do not accept returns/exchanges from any other retailer (including Birkenstock-USA). We only accept returns of items purchased at www.birkenstockmidtown.com or in our store, Birkenstock Midtown. Please do not send any item purchased from us back to the manufacturer.

For all other purchases, we accept returns within 30 days of purchase for regular stock, and 8 days for clearance items. The item must be in new condition, with proof of purchase. Shipping fees are nonrefundable. 

Please try your shoes on carpet or a clean, smooth floor, and wear nylons or socks to prevent soiling the inside of the shoe.

If the item shows signs of wear and tear, we reserve the right to refuse a refund or exchange.

Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If your return is approved, your refund will be processed promptly, and a credit will be applied to the purchaser’s original method of payment.

If the return is not approved by us, the item will be returned to the sender at the sender’s expense. Failure or refusal to pay return shipping to purchaser will result in the item being donated or destroyed. 

 

Exchanges

Items for an exchange must meet the same criteria as for returns. You may want to contact us at sales@birkenstockmidtown.com or call us at (916) 492-2280. For the first exchange, we will send the replacement item to you at no additional shipping charge (using ground parcel service). If there are additional exchanges related to the original purchase, the buyer is responsible for any shipping charges.

 

Late or missing refunds

For credit cards, the credit should appear in your account within 7-14 days, depending on your card company and your bank.

It may take some time before your refund is completed. Please contact your credit card company at the number on you card or your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Clearance priced items

Only regular-priced items may be refunded. Clearance-priced items may be returned for exchange or store credit only. A refund will not be issued. They may be exchanged (one time only) for another size of the same item, if available. If you choose store credit, you may use the store credit for any future purchase in-store or at www.birkenstockmidtown.com. Please contact us at sales@birkenstockmidtown.com or call us at (916) 492-2280 prior to sending your item.

 

Defects/Replacements

We will replace any item if it is defective or damaged when you receive it. We will replace the defective item only with the same item, and we will pay shipping both ways. Gifts and Gift Certificates

If the item was a gift and shipped directly to you, once the returned item is received and inspected, you’ll receive a store credit for the original purchase price. You may use the store credit for any future purchase in-store or at www.birkenstockmidtown.com.

If the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver, and they will be notified about the return.

The value of a gift certificate will only be refunded to the original purchaser and to the original method of payment.
