I am a recent Birkenstock convert and fell hard for the look of the Yara. I love the toe straps and the band that wraps around the ankle--the whole thing has a rather Roman feel to it. I have thick ankles and really had to cinch that top strap to make it around and fasten in the loosest setting, but being leather it's already beginning to stretch out and loosen. One of the straps is also rubbing against the outside of my little toe uncomfortably, but I'm hopeful that with time both the toe and the strap will break each other in. I've only had them about three days and can only wear them for a couple hours at a time so far. But I'm very optimistic!
